Velma was born on September 5th, 1906.  Velma's father was Thomas Jefferson Hollowell and her mother was Arinia Belle Harris. She had three brothers and a sister, named Ross, Walter, Rayford and Molly.  She was the fourth oldest of the five children.  She died from a stroke at the age of 76 on March 1st, 1983 in Tyler, Smith Co., TX.  She was buried in 1983 in Liberty Hill Memorial Gardens, Smith County, Tyler, TX.1 2
