Josie was born on July 28th, 1899. Josie's father was Brazos Butler Potts and her mother was Laura Isobelle Watson. Her paternal grandparents were William Hugh Potts and Sarah Catherine Sanders. She had three brothers and five sisters, named Hugh, Pettus, Brazos, Mary, Ima, Clemma, Alma and Shirley. She was the oldest of the nine children. She died at the age of 11 on November 7th, 1910.
