Texanna was born in 1855 in Arkansas.  Texanna's father was Daniel Franklin Sanders and her mother was Mary “Pauly” Messer.  Her paternal grandparents were Julius  Sanders and Penelope (Parthenia) Fields. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Lewis, Charles, Daniel, Francis and Mary.  She was the fifth oldest of the six children. She had a half-brother named William.
