Charles was born on May 23rd, 1883 in Leakey, TX.  Charles' father was Daniel Franklin Sanders Jr and his mother was Bennie Henderson.  His paternal grandparents were Daniel Franklin Sanders and Mary “Pauly” Messer. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Willie, Ira, Guy, Gladys, Miriam and Dabney.  He was the second oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 61 on November 8th, 1944 in Leakey, TX.
