Sarah was born on January 8th, 1887.  Sarah's father was Aaron R. Sanders and her mother was Lou Cynthia Ann “Lucynthia” Barksdale.  Her paternal grandparents were William Carroll Sanders and Sarah Frances Austin. She had three brothers and three sisters, named James, Carroll, Aaron, Josephine, Kathryn and Lillian.  She was the third oldest of the seven children. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named William, Charles and Mary.  She died at the age of 40 on June 5th, 1927.
