Vondel was born on May 29th, 1913. Vondel's father was William Eilias Sanders and her mother was Mary Maude Hopkins. Her paternal grandparents were Hansford Newton Sanders and Mary Catherine “Katie” Weems. She had two brothers and a sister, named David, William and Nola. She was the youngest of the four children. She had two half-sisters named Bessie and Rissie. She died at the age of 71 on July 21st, 1984 in Broken Bow, OK. She was buried in 1984 in Green's Chapel, Sevier Co., AR.¹
