Daniel was born on November 1st, 1848.  Daniel's father was David Stephen Sanders and his mother was Harriett H. Stewart.  His paternal grandparents were Julius  Sanders and Penelope (Parthenia) Fields. He had six brothers and four sisters, named William, Lorenzo, Hansford, David, James, Allen, Narcissa, Sarah, Martha and Martha.  He was the fourth oldest of the eleven children. He had two half-sisters named Missouri and Hattie.  He died after 1880.
