Martha was born on October 9th, 1864.  Martha's father was David Stephen Sanders and her mother was Harriett H. Stewart.  Her paternal grandparents were Julius  Sanders and Penelope (Parthenia) Fields. She had seven brothers and three sisters, named William, Lorenzo, Daniel, Hansford, David, James, Allen, Narcissa, Sarah and Martha.  She was the tenth oldest of the eleven children. She had two half-sisters named Missouri and Hattie.  She died at the age of 73 on September 26th, 1938.
