Virginia, known as Vergie, was born on January 26th, 1912 in Gillham, Arkansas.  Vergie's father was JaHugh P. “Jacie” Sanders and her mother was Alice Jane McCarrell.  Her paternal grandparents were Hansford Newton Sanders and Mary Catherine “Katie” Weems; her maternal grandparents were Harvey  Landon McCarrell and Martha Ann Elizabeth Pinion. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Clarence, Elmer, Henry, Pearl, Bertha and Lela.  She was the youngest of the seven children. She had a half-brother named O'Dell.  She died at the age of 55 on March 24th, 1967 in Tyler, TX.  She was buried in 1967 in Liberty Hill Memorial Gardens, Smith County, Tyler, TX.
