William, known as Henry, was born on October 4th, 1904 in Gillham, Arkansas.  Henry's father was JaHugh P. “Jacie” Sanders and his mother was Alice Jane McCarrell.  His paternal grandparents were Hansford Newton Sanders and Mary Catherine “Katie” Weems; his maternal grandparents were Harvey  Landon McCarrell and Martha Ann Elizabeth Pinion. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Clarence, Elmer, Pearl, Bertha, Lela and Vergie.  He was the third oldest of the seven children. He had a half-brother named O'Dell.  He died at the age of 88 on March 3rd, 1993 in Broken Bow, McCurtain Co., OK.1
